In the history of America, women were not given equal rights as men. It was due to their gender that they were treated in an unfair manner. It was throughout the history of America that women stood up for themselves and fought for rights which women deserved. Who were these women who stood up for their rights as well as the rights of other women and who were these women rights activists who are so well known in the history of America?


Susan Brownell Anthony was amongst the women activists. She was born on February 15, 1820 in Massachusetts (Susan B. Anthony). Susan B. Anthony was one woman who was extremely determined and wanted to change the rights which women were allowed at the time. A quote states that Susan B. Anthony devoted her full life to the cause of the Woman Suffrage Movement (Susan Brownell Anthony). It was with one of her best friends, Elizabeth Cady Stanton in 1869 that they founded the very first Nation Woman’s Suffrage Association (Susan Brownell Anthony). It was in 186801870 that she published her weekly paper which was known as ‘The Revolution’ and it had a motto: ‘Men and their rights, nothing else.
