On 26th December 2004 one of the most devastating earthquakes of 9.3 magnitudes in the history struck the seabed of Sumatra, Indonesia, and ripped apart the sea floor.  The impact was so massive that it resulted in devastating tidal waves across the Indian Ocean that surged inland many coastal areas across Asia and even Africa. Several countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma, Sri Lanka, Maldives and other parts of Asia, were the hardest hit by huge tsunamis resulting in mass deaths.
