Article Review

Words 450

The article “Is There a Duty to Die?” was written by John Hardwig in 1997. First, he brings in the highly individualistic American society and the “American Fantasy” which makes people believe that they are not connected to others and they live in isolation. Based on this one person’s life would not influence another person, therefore one person’s prolongation of life would not impact anyone else but that is not true people are connected to each other and individuals are part of a society, therefore, this mingling of relationships and dependencies makes it impossible to make decisions in isolation.
